Piper tackles a controversial quote from Hirsch and Frost regarding risk. Does God take them, or not? And, should that effect our ability to take risks? Detailed post found here.

I’m not a fiction novel kind of guy, but absolutely loved these. Finished books 1 and 2, and eagerly waiting for three. I highly recommend them. Especially for men!

Incredible quote on willing obedience
Christ’s reign in his Church is that of a shepherd-king. He has supremacy, but it is the superiority of a wise and tender shepherd over his needy and loving flock; he commands and receives obedience, but it is the willing obedience of the well-cared-for sheep, rendered joyfully to their beloved Shepherd, whose voice they know so well.

Facebook Causes Psychological Disorders
A recent study has shown how Facebook may be causing psychological disorder amongst teens. I don’t find this very hard to believe… “Some of the negative side effects of Facebook use for teens that Rosen cited include: Development of narcissism in teens who often use Facebook; Presence of other psychological disorders, including antisocial behaviors, mania and aggressive...

God's Good Promise of Good
Refreshing thoughts from Charles Spurgeon on the ever so famous Romans 8:28. “We know that all things work together for good to them that love God.” Romans 8:28 Upon some points a believer is absolutely sure. He knows, for instance, that God sits in the stern-sheets of the vessel when it rocks most. He believes that an invisible hand is always on the world’s tiller, and...

Why Knowedge of God Matters
“Knowledge strengthens love, as well as faith. Knowledge opens the door, and then through that door we see our Saviour. Or, to use another similitude, knowledge paints the portrait of Jesus, and when we see that portrait then we love him, we cannot love a Christ whom we do not know, at least, in some degree. If we know but little of the excellences of Jesus, what he has done for us, and what...
